WVU Fans Have Potty Mouths

Here's an unprovoked barrage of insults (in reverse chronological order) from West Virginia fans last night on my twitter after I offered a fairly intelligent and balanced criticism of their athletic director yesterday.

  1. their absurdity amazes me. two of the top teams in the big east (wvu and pitt) are afraid to compete for recruits with a small, private, no endowment, fcs school, with no facilities, the smallest stadium in the big east, high academic standards, and a history of less than lenient punishment for athlete misbehavior. (i mean that in the most endearing way villanova)

  5. I am a Villanova alum, sick of the fodder from other fans around the league. Most of it is coming from schools who haven't been a part of the league discussion for very long (USF, WVU). Do they actually think that people in the big "hub" cities of the Big East (NYC, Philly, DC) would want to see an independent football league with USF, Pitt, WVU, Louisville, Cincy, and TCU instead of the status quo (with Nova, St John's, and Georgetown in the bball discussion) and Nova for football?

  6. (Nova alum) And as a PS to my previous statement, I have family members that attend/attended UConn and Virginia Tech so I have both the ACC and Big East covered as well as a program that transitioned from I-AA to I-A, not to mention the fact that I attended one of the "Catholic Basketball" schools.

  7. Dear Villanova Faithful - Please stop worrying about trivial, moronic comments by the co-campuses of Pitt and WVU. Short of Tony Dorsett and Jerry West they have added little to the sporting conversation over the years and they can't approach us academically. And don't ever let USF enter the conversation as they are irrelevant. Let's look forward and not let these people get in our way. They are all fearful of us and that is what is coming out in their thoughtless comments.

  8. fearful? of temple and villanova?? wvu has beat teams like auburn, georgia, and oklahoma in the past 5 or so years.. we arent fearful of playing you on the field, but we are fearful of letting in scrubs like villanova to bring down our conference

  9. you want to better the conference by adding a school with ONE successful sport as an all sports member? tell me how that betters the conference overall. villanova football brings a better television market without the hassle of dealing with a school that wants to be an all sports member.

  11. its obvious that all sports dont matter.. idk where any of you have been but its a football world and basketball doesnt have any effect on the conference shifting going on around the country.. and ps i second that "eat shit and die blue man"

  12. did you know that all big east schools but two make more profit on basketball than they do on football?

  13. thats not a surprising fact at all considering the schools in the conference, not to mention there are twice as many basketball teams in the conference.. its pretty obvious actually however it isnt about individual teams revenue?? its about our BCS conference comparing to the others.. this is about football and TCU is a football school and we NEED them.. villanova doesnt even have a D-1 football team so we need to find a legitimate 10th FOOTBALL team so our conference doesnt break up and we will remain alive after the BCS contract is up.. i know WVU will be fine no matter what happens because we are a legitimate top 25 team in basketball and football year in and year out.. but the conference lives or dies on football so TCU is very important to the continuation of the big east conference.. basketball has no effect on anything so its pointless to even talk about
