Before suffering an injury during his senior season, Noble Champen was a good target for Villanova quarterbacks Brett Gordon and Joe Casamento. Champen had his greatest game in the 2002 playoff semifinals against McNeese State, with five receptions for 140 yards in a game where Villanova was robbed by an extremely dubious performance by the officials. In 2003, he had a big touchdown against Pennsylvania Government Waste (Temple).
