Villanova Picked To Finish 7th in The CAA, Four Players Named All-CAA

In a bit of a shock, Villanova football was picked to finish seventh in the CAA in the conference's preseason poll. To go along with that, senior wide receiver Norman White, junior center Dan Shirey, sophomore defensive lineman Antoine Lewis, and senior cornerback James Pitts were all selected to the preseason all-conference first team.

I think that predicting Villanova to finish in the bottom half of the league is a bit much, and I think it undersells the rising starters, and even though some very good players at key positions have graduated, the depth showed that it was more than capable when it was given the opportunity. I'm really not sure how they can pick four players to be all conference if they're expect them to finish seventh. It is what it is though, and hopefully the coaches are using this as motivation for the upcoming season.

CAA Preseason Poll:

5. Massachusetts (1)
