Is it too late for the NFL? I only ask this because Matt Szczur isn't exactly playing like a big league player. Through 25 games for the AA Tennessee Smokies, Szczur is hitting .202/.269/.374, which is one of the worst lines on his team, and his batting average, on base percentage, and slugging percentage are all below the league averages. He's also striking out at a career high rate and walking at a career low rate. While he's still a little bit young for his league, it's not like he's new to baseball, and these concerns are the same ones I had when he was first drafted (no position, no power, reliant on contact, etc.) and they don't surprise me one bit.
All that said, let's hope he finds something.
