44 Years Ago Tonight: The Greatest Record Ever

The most earth shattering feat in the history of sports. I don't care what you're interested in. Bob Beamon's preparations:
"Everything was wrong. So I went into town and had a shot of tequila. Man, did I feel loose. I got a good sleep."
That same night, Villanova sophomore Larry James won silver behind Lee Evans in the 400m. He is still one of only 10 men to run faster than 44 seconds. (Video after the jump)
