Moe Sutton Needs More Minutes

On the face of things, Maurice Sutton is Villanova's sixth leading scorer, averaging a respectable, but unspectacular 5.8 points per game. I saw that and began to reassess the thoughts that I had about Villanova being better with him on the court.

Then I realized that he's seventh on the team in minutes, getting only 14.5 per game! If you do the math, he's second on the team in points per 40 minutes (Behind JayVaughn Pinkston), rebounding very well, and is one of the top 25 players in the country in blocked shot percentage.

For a team that is playing so horribly, they need someone who can score and play defense. Sutton is doing both of those things reasonably well this season, maybe not in volume because of his lack of minutes, but he is doing them. Time to give him more minutes.
