Rising sophomore Villanova guard Ryan Arcidiacono will try out for the US team for the FIBA under-19 World Championship next month at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
If he does well for the camp, which is being overseen by University of Florida head coach Billy Donovan, he could be selected for the 12 man team that will be going to Prague, Czech Republic to compete against the best junior teams in the world, which could also include Arcidiacono's Villanova teammate Mislav Brzoja on the Croatian squad, who are in the tournament.
If selected, it would be the second consecutive time that a Villanova player was picked to represent the US at this tournament after James Bell was selected for the 2011 tournament in Latvia.
The tournament will take place between June 27 and July 17 of this year at as-yet undetermined venues in the Czech Republic. Best of luck to Hubris in his efforts to make the team.
