What does Villanova have in Mislav Brzoja?

Playing for his native Croatia this summer in the FIBA U19 Championships, rising Villanova sophomore guard Mislav Brzoja has averaged 13.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, and two assists per game while leading his team to the quarterfinals of the tournament, where they lost to archrival Serbia.

This begs the question: What does Villanova have in Brzoja? The answer to this is a mystery, as he only scored two points in sparing action last season.

Let's start with what we do know about Brzoja: He can shoot threes. This summer, he has converted on more than 41% of his three point opportunities, which can help just about any team, especially one that loves to chuck it up, like Jay Wright coached teams tend to do. We don't know what kind of defense he plays, and if I had to guess, that's one of the reasons why he didn't see significant playing time last season.

We'll just have to wait and see this season.
